Honourable Minister of State – Youth Affairs and Sports and MoS Minority Affairs Kiran Rijuju launched Kailash Kher’s most ambitious project – KKALA (Kailash Kher Academy of Learning Arts) at a function held at St Andrews Auditorium in Bandra during the show NAYII UDAAN designed specifically to promote talented children and passionate musicians.
Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini too sent their personal greetings via their video links to wish Kailash who celebrated his 47th birthday on 7th of July in the presence of 1,000 fans who cheered and and showered wishes on him.
“I am overwhelmed. I feel blessed by the almighty for this is the first time that I have celebrated my birthday in such an unique way – with the announcement of Kailash Kher Kala Academy,” announced the singer-maestro Kailash Kher .
“When the almighty has given us so much, what have we done to give it back to the universe? Hence, I have distributed over 1,000 saplings for tree plantation. This is the least I could have done for mother nature,” said the beaming singer.
Speaking to the media, Kailash explained, ” We have a panel of judges to unearth the talent which include Rekha Bharadway, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Hans Raj Hans besides himself. It is a pity to see TV channels beaming several sorts of ‘music reality shows’ which just promote Hindi films songs. Have you noticed that none of the child has rendered any non-filmy classical song? We want the young talent to practice and perform their own songs based on the classical music and culture of India.”
Kailash Kher has sung in over 25 languages and refrains from singing too many Bollywood songs as he feels that the scope of real music lies in other forms of our classical culture. Taking a dig at the TV Channels running the reality music shows he feels that they are those corporates who use their brains for exploitation of the young talents who increase their TRPs instantly.
“Un log dimag ka istamal karte hai, lekin agar woh dil ki sune to sach mein alsi hero ki talaash puri ho jayegi.” Kailash is of the opinion that even if a fraction of these Television Channels conduct their music reality shows with a soul, then the real talent of these gifted children would come to the fore.”
Of course there is abundance of talent remaining to be tapped in our great country! FilmyTown wishes all the best to Kailash Kher on his noble endeavor.
